Eye eye
So yesterday I had my right cataract removed. The fun part was watching the anaesthatist plunge large needles into my eye.......... Then those words which everyone dreads: "Take her into theatre". And the surgeon got to work. Odd unexplained noises and comments. My eyes covered in what felt like cellotape but could see lights and shapes doing things. Very surreal. Almost enjoyable. Yet not.
And today when I left the house I felt as though I was wearing someone else's eyes and was going to fall over. But brighter colours, and I could finally see bus numbers and street names. Previously I'd flagged down every ruddy bus, then waved it on if it wasn't the right one. Lights not flaring any more, so will be able to drive again at night. Downside? I hadn't realised how many cobwebs have grown and how old my arms look. A small price.
