My newest basket plus the back yard
I wanted to make a curly-wurly basket, using up odd bits of cane and only dyed the stakes. It's quite big, 18"/46cm wide. The hardest part was getting the shape right, but having done one I'd like to make another one. Maybe a willow one if and when I go to Joe Hogan's next year. I'd love to use some of those wonderful colours.
Now I must come up with my next project. I'm toying with the idea of using plain cane then painting it. But to do a painting which I'm pleased with is asking too much I think. My best skill is often using colour (this basket doesn't count because I was using up what we had in the Miscellaneous bag).
This is the back yard - I think it's looking so much better this year. This is the shady bit. There are some Lillies of the Valley amongst all this:
And this is the other part, which does get a little bit of sun:
I entered Scooter in the Prettiest Bitch competition at the Primrose Hill Fair (which I hadn't know existed until I saw the notice in the pet shop). She hid behind me and wasn't even placed, despite being THE prettiest bitch:
But she had her (found on the Heath) dummy to console her. And her humping cushion:
This was Primrose Hill early yesterday morning:
