France May 2016
The plan is to stay at Marou for 6 weeks. Yes - 6 weeks. Just the two of us. And Scooter. This is a flavour of the first week:
Robert doesn't cut his fields anymore and nobody wants the hay he's grown. He can't even give it away to his horse-breeder neighbour. So the fields were so beautiful. Full of wild flowers - and ticks..... I got quite good at getting them off Scooter. But not so good at pulling out the one that burrowed under my skin. I ended up going to the pharmacist and she did a good job.
So we stayed for nearly 6 weeks, coming home a little earlier in order to see Joe before he went to Malta. And it rained. It rained more in June than any other June for 116 years. Most of it on us. Well on the garden. Which looked lovely.
